Problems and challenges
[edit]Hydroelectric power plants in the Alps are sometimes located on unstable mountain slopes. Melting glaciers (with landslides like the one in Blatten in May 2025), heavy rainfall, and flooding also pose challenges.[1] Water resource management has gained importance.[2]
