Knights of the Holy Eucharist is a Catholic community of lay brothers founded in 1998 by Mother Mary Angelica.[1][2] The community follows the Franciscan tradition, emphasizing Eucharistic devotion, Marian spirituality, and service within the Catholic Church.[3][4][5]

History

[edit]

The Knights were established on July 25, 1998, the Feast of St. James the Greater, in Hanceville, Alabama, where they initially served at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament.[6] Their founding was part of Mother Angelica’s broader efforts to promote Eucharistic reverence and traditional Catholic spirituality.[7][8]

In 2016, the Knights moved to the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska,[9] at the invitation of Bishop James D. Conley.[10] They took residence at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House near Waverly.[11][12]
