Kevin Schwertfeger is an American politician from Kansas that currently represents the 114th district of the Kansas House of Representatives since 2024 as a Republican.

Early life

Schwertfeger attended the Fairfield High School in Langdon, Kansas, before attending Hutchinson Community College earning a Associate of Arts in agriculture. He later attended the Kansas State University and earning a Bachelor of Science in crop protection.[1] For 20 years Schwertfeger worked as a volunteer firefighter and served as a trustee of Miami township as well as a term on the Fairfield USD 310 school board.[2]

Schwertfeger succeeded Michael Murphy as the Republican representative from the 114th district as he ran for state senate.[2] During the campaign Schwertfeger ran on reducing the cost of living as well as balancing the budget by reducing education spending.[2]
