Kateřina Hlavsová
Appearance
Kateřina Hlavsová is a Czech military pilot known for being the first female jet aircraft pilot in modern Czech history.[1]
Military career
[edit]Hlavsová graduated from the Military Academy in Brno in 2006 and was subsequently assigned as a pilot to the 22nd Air Force Base with the rank of Second Lieutenant. As of 2025, she holds the rank of Major.[1]
Hlavsová's aviation career began with glider training at an aeroclub. To prepare for a career in aviation, she changed schools to focus on mathematics, physics, and English.[2]
As the only woman in her field during her studies, Hlavsová faced potential skepticism regarding female pilots in jet aviation. Despite this, she successfully graduated and is serving in the Czech Air Force.[2]
