Personal life and career
[edit]Junnie Boy was born on July 5, 1994, to Marlon Velasquez Sr. and Jovel Cortez Velasquez. He has three siblings: Lincoln Velasquez, known as Cong TV; Patricia Velasquez-Gaspar; and Venice Velasquez.[3][4] Both Lincoln and Patricia are also well-known Filipino YouTubers.
In 2020, he became engaged to co-vlogger Vien Iligan.[5][6] They were married in 2022 and have two children.[7][8]
Career
[edit]Junnie Boy has been featured in Cong TV's vlogs since 2017. He created his own YouTube channel in the same year but began vlogging more consistently in 2018, eventually gaining a significant number of subscribers. He is a member of Team Payaman, a group founded by his brother, Cong TV, composed of vloggers, editors, and production staff. The group rose to prominence in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.[2] In 2021, Junnie Boy and Cong TV appeared in a Mountain Dew commercial with James Reid.[9][10] Netflix partnered with Junnie to create a promotional teaser video parodying the live-action "One Piece" series, which premiered on the platform on August 31, 2023.[1] As a member of Tier One Entertainment,[2] he supported Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) at the 2022 Southeast Asian Games.[11]
