Juan van Emmerloot (born November 12, 1965, in Waalwijk, Netherlands) is a Dutch drummer, drum teacher, music producer, and author. He is known for his live and studio work with international artists, including Snowy White (of Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy fame), Stef Burns, and Robby Valentine. He has also served as a senior drum faculty member at the Rotterdam conservatory Codarts for over a decade.

Van Emmerloot began his career in the 1980s and developed into a versatile session drummer, performing and recording across Europe. He was the drummer for Snowy White's Blues Project, as mentioned in a 2020 Rolling Stone interview with White.[1]

From 2007 to 2020, he was head drum teacher at Codarts, the University of the Arts in Rotterdam, where he trained dozens of students in jazz, pop, and rock drumming. Van Emmerloot also authored several educational works, including Drumming Secrets Revealed – Grow from Basic to Advanced and the play-along book Burnin' the Rules.[2]

He is the founder of the educational and entrepreneurial platform Business Beat, collaborating with institutions like the University of Amsterdam, Salta Group, and Insify.

Van Emmerloot is also active as a music journalist and podcast host. He writes for the Dutch drumming magazine Slagwerkkrant and hosts the YouTube podcast Tussen de Slagen Door, interviewing fellow drummers and musicians.[3][4]

He is endorsed by several well-known music brands, including SONOR Drums, MEINL Cymbals, Aquarian Drumheads, and Audio-Technica microphones.
