John Darko

John Darko (born 4 June 1979) is a Ghanaian politician and a Member of parliament representing Suame.[1] In March 2025, he was appointed as the Legal Counsel for the Minority Caucus in the Parliament of Ghana.[2][3]

Early life and education

John Darko hails from Bremang, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.[4] He holds BA (HON) political science & Theatre Arts in 2003 from the University of Ghana. He also holds a LLB from the University of Ghana in 2007.[4] He further went to the Ghana School of Law and completed in 2009. He also has a LLM from the University of Houston in 2010.[4]

Career

He was an Associate at the Gyandoh Asmah and Co. He was also a partner at Darko, Keli-Delataa and Co.[4]

He joined the GIMPA law faculty as a full time member in 2014. He has taught natural resources law, environmental law, constitutional law and conflict.[5] He has several years of teaching.[6]

Political career

Darko is a member of the New Patriotic Party.[7] He is the Vice-Chairperson for the Environment, Science and Technology in the Parliament of Ghana.[4] He is also a member of the Local Government and Rural Development.[4] He is also a member of the Subsidiary Legislation.[4]

Personal life

Darko is a Christian.[4]
