James Spillane is an American Republican politician. He serves in the New Hampshire House of Representatives in Rockingham County alongside Jason Osborne and Kevin Verville.[1]

Political career

In 2020 he was investigated by the State Attorney General for a Facebook comment.[2] In June 2023, he switched his endorsement to Ron DeSantis from Donald Trump in the 2024 Republican Party presidential primaries after Trump's criticism of Kayleigh McEnany.[3]

Controversy

In 2010, Spillane was arrested and indicted on reckless conduct, driving while intoxicated, and attempted second degree assault charges for attacking and strangling his now ex-wife.

In 2017, Spillane was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.[4]

In 2025, A leaked encrypted text message from a Signal group chat featuring prominent New Hampshire conservative lawmakers appears to show a state representative encouraging the use of violence against fellow Republicans for voting against the direction of leadership, reports COURIER’s Granite Post.
