Irate was an American Hardcore punk band from Queens, New York City, known as an early example of Beatdown hardcore.
History
[edit]Irate was formed in 1996 in Queens, New York, by vocalist Jason Demarco. Their early demo and debut album 11:34 (1998) attracted attention in the hardcore underground. [1] Throughout the early 2000s, Irate toured the East Coast hardcore circuit, performing with Full Blown Chaos, and Sworn Enemy. The group disbanded in 2005.[2]
Musical style and influence
[edit]Irate is often cited as an early examples of beatdown hardcore. Their lyrics often cover themes of vengeance, inner rage, and street life.[3]
