Indonesian Christian Church in the Netherlands

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Indonesian Christian Church in the Netherlands is a theologically Reformed church that was founded in 1985 as an Indonesian-Chinese ethnic minority church. It had 800 members and 8 congregations and 15 house fellowships. Official languages are Dutch and Indonesian.[1] The church is part of a broader missionary effort that began in Germany in the 1970s, focusing on the Indonesian community. The church's founder felt a calling for missionary service, starting his activities in Germany in 1978. There, he worked among Indonesian students and was involved in establishing an Indonesian Christian fellowship in Stuttgart. He then returned to Indonesia for theological studies and missionary training from 1983-1988, during which he received a call to return to Europe. From 1989-2018, the founder and his family served in Germany and the Netherlands, including through the WEC Mission Agency. They were instrumental in establishing churches and mission posts, such as the "Indonesian Mission Church (GMI) e.V." in Frankfurt/M, which expanded to other cities in Germany and the Netherlands.[2]
