In Camera is a 2023 British drama film, written and directed by Naqqash Khalid, in his directorial debut. It stars Nabhaan Rizwan, Amir El-Masry and Rory Fleck Byrne.
It had its world premiere at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on 1 July 2023, and was released on 13 September 2024, by Conic.
Premise
[edit]A young actor finds himself in a cycle of nightmarish auditions. After repeatedly being rejected, he takes it upon himself to find a part to play.

Production
[edit]In September 2022, it was announced Nabhaan Rizwan, Amir El-Masry and Rory Fleck Byrne had joined the cast of the film, with Naqqash Khalid directing from a screenplay he wrote.[1]
Release
[edit]The film had its world premiere at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on 1 July 2023.[2][3] It also screened at Zurich Film Festival on 2 October 2023,[4] and the BFI London Film Festival on 13 October 2023.[5][6] In February 2024, Conic acquired UK distribution rights to the film.[7] It was released on 13 September 2024.[8]
Reception
[edit]On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 100% of 8 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.20/10.[9]
