Yahya ibn Ali ibn Hammud al-Mu'tali seized the opportunity and annexed Algeciras to Málaga, to which he had fled, and Idris seized Tangier and added it to Ceuta both under his brother Yahya's rule,[5] and Yahya founded the Taifa of Málaga one of the Taifa kingdoms that came from the Fitna of al-Andalus. In 1035 Idris became the ruler of the Taifa of Málaga [6] succeeding his brother Yahya who was killed near Carmona walls, he was appealed by the two viziers of his brother "Abu-l'Fawz Nja Al-Siqlabi" and "Abu Ja'far ibn Musa ibn Baqanah" from Ceuta and gave himself the title "al-Muta'ayyad", he gave his nephew Al-Hasan ibn Yahya the governance of Ceuta and Tangier, [7] and choose Naja Al-Siqlabi as his Hajib. Ronda and Algeciras also obeyed him ,with Zuhayr Al-Amiri and Habbus al-Muzaffar proclaiming him Not alot passed from his rule until Algeciras became independent from the Taifa of Málaga because when Yahya was killed, one of the Berbers called Abu'l-Hajaj was entrusted with the custody of Muhammad and al-Hasan two sons of Idris's uncle Al-Qasim al-Ma'mun in Algeciras since Yahya imprisoned them with their father in 1026 when he attacked Jerez de la Frontera ،[8] Abu'l-Hajaj liberated them and invited the Berbers and African Slaves into the obedience of Muhammad ibn Al-Qasim creating the Taifa of Algeciras.[9]

In 1036 Idris moved to fight Abu al-Qasim Muhammad ibn Abbad and he was joined with Zuhayr al-Amiri and Habbus al-Muzaffar and Muhammad ibn Abdallah al-Birzali ruler of Carmona, they invaded the territories of Seville and captured some of its forts.[10]

In 1039 Idris sent his vizier Ibn Baqanah to help Muhammad ibn Abdallah al-Birzali from the attack of Ismail ibn Abbad on Écija and Carmona, al-Birzali and Idris and Badis ibn Habus succeeded in defeating ibn Abbad where he was killed[11] and after days, Idris died in the castle of Bobastro[11] in 1039 from illness, he was put in a coffin to Ceuta where he was buried.[12] and his son Yahya II al-Qa'im was proclaimed and succeeded him.[13]
