History

[edit]

Ideanomics was founded in 2004 by Shane McMahon.[5][6]

In October 2018, Ideanomics acquired a building at $5.2 million University of Connecticut campus in West Hartford to move its operations to newly acquired facility.[7]

In June 2021, Ideanomics was included in the broad-market Russell 3000 Index.[8] In the same month, it also acquired US Hybrid, zero-emission vehicle manufacturer.[9]

In August 2021, Ideanomics acquired Via Motors for US$630 million.[10] Previously, it had acquired US Hybrid, an electric powertrain components and fuel cell engines manufacturer; Solectrac, which is one of two electric tractor manufacturers in the United States; Wave, a wireless charging company.[11]

In March 2022, Ideanomics acquired Italian electric motorcycle manufacturer Energica.[12]

In July 2024, Ideanomics was delisted from Nasdaq for failure to meet the minimum bid price and market value of publicly held shares required by Nasdaq Listing Rules 5550(a)(2) and 5550(b)(2).[13]

In August 2024, a Patent Infringement lawsuit filed against IDEX/WAVE by WiTricity.
