Him (stylized in all caps) is an upcoming American sports horror film directed by Justin Tipping, and co-written by Skip Bronkie, Zack Akers, and Tipping.[2] Produced by Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions, the film stars Marlon Wayans and Tyriq Withers.

Him is scheduled to be released in the United States by Universal Pictures on September 19, 2025.

Premise

A promising young up-and-coming football player (Tyriq Withers) is invited to train at the isolated compound of a dynasty team's aging quarterback. The legendary almost-retired quarterback (Marlon Wayans) takes his protégé on a blood-chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, desire, power, and pursuit of excellence at all costs.

In April 2022, WME took a spec script entitled Goat—in reference to the sports term "greatest of all time" (GOAT)written by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, out for sale.[3][4] In June 2022, Monkeypaw Productions, under a deal with Universal Pictures, bought the script.[5] At the end of the year, the script was voted onto the Black List of best unproduced screenplays in 2022.[6] In January 2024, Justin Tipping was announced as the director with Marlon Wayans starring,[7] and later Tyriq Withers joined the cast.[8] In February, Julia Fox joined the cast.[9] The film was retitled Him with the setting of its release date in May 2024.[10] Principal photography had been completed by November 2024.[11]

Music

Bobby Krlic had composed the score for the film by April 2025.[12]

Release

Him is scheduled to be theatrically released on September 19, 2025, by Universal Pictures.[10]
