Guy Ben-Ari (Hebrew: גיא בן-ארי; born in Tel Aviv, Israel) is an Israeli-American arts operations executive based in New York City. He is known for his leadership in business operations, strategic planning, and capital project management at major cultural institutions. He currently serves as Senior Director of Operations at Pace Gallery.

Guy Ben-Ari is an Israeli-American cultural institution executive based in New York City. He currently serves as Senior Director of Operations at Pace Gallery, where he helps lead core business functions and operational strategy across the gallery’s global locations.[1] Prior to joining Pace in 2018, Ben-Ari was Director of Business Operations at Art Advisory Services, Inc., where he managed strategic planning, audit preparation, and organizational compliance for institutional clients. He also held roles at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, where he worked on imaging and documentation initiatives in the Drawings and Prints Department, supporting union-integrated workflows and digital asset management.

Ben-Ari is the co-founder and executive director of Meta Meta Meta LLC, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit cultural space supporting multidisciplinary artists and inclusive community programming.[2] Since 2012, he has led the organization’s operations, financial oversight, and public engagement efforts. He later studied business strategy, financial management, and leadership through the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania online program.

Artistic Practice

Before shifting his focus fully to arts administration, Ben-Ari maintained an active studio practice as a visual artist through 2020. He earned his MFA from Columbia University’s School of the Arts in 2011 and a BFA with honors from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem in 2009, where he received the Presser Award for Excellence in Painting.[3] In 2008, he participated in a merit-based exchange at the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, London.[3]

Ben-Ari was an artist-in-residence at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Workspace Residency,[4] the NARS Foundation,[5] Triangle Arts Association,[6] and the Lower East Side Printshop.[7] He was a recipient of the SIP Award from the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop at The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts.[8] His work has been supported by institutions such as the America-Israel Cultural Foundation[9] and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council,[10] and is included in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.[11]
