Guido Renzi[1] (born February 13, 1939) is an Italian singer-songwriter.
Career
[edit]After graduating with a diploma in accounting, he began studying at the faculty of literature and philosophy at the "La Sapienza University" in Rome a career that he did not finish because of his move to Canada where he started working as a singer, journalist and television host at the Italian television station Tele Italia.
He made his debut on the Italian music scene in 1967, after obtaining a contract with the RT label.
In 1969 he participated with his group in the Cantagiro where he sang his first song Amica mia. The following year, he presented his album 45 rpm Tanto cara,[2] with which he participated in Cantagiro in 1970.
Both songs entered the charts in Italy and are among the top 50 singles for sale:49th with Amica mia[3] and 25th for Tanto cara.
Then he participated in a record for the summer of 1972 with the theme Così, a song written by Roby Crispiano,[4] while the following year with Qui nel buio, he participated in the Cantestate.
In 1976 she was the star of the children's comedy Ciao Luna[5] in which she recited the songs Storia del bene e Storia del male.
He toured abroad in countries such as Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, where he performed his many romantic songs.
In 1990 he moved to Canada, where, in addition to continuing his career as a singer and radio broadcaster, he worked as a teacher of Italian language and culture in some high schools.
In the cinema she had a part in the 1979 Italian film La sposina,[6] played by Antiniska Nemour[7] and Carlo De Mejo.
In 2001, he became a partner of one of the first freelance companies in Canada, Ionenet SA, with his son Danilo Renzi who, together with Alphonse Langueduc and Andrea Deeangelis, experts in sexuality and seduction, started a series of online projects, such as the Meetero social media.
He now lives near Laval city, next to Montreal with his wife.
In Argentina, he was honored at the 41st Martín Fierro Awards[8] ceremony.
