Grace Keller Gordon (born October 10, 2000) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for the Kansas City Current of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She played college soccer for the Drexel Dragons, Seton Hall Pirates, and Oklahoma State Cowgirls.

Early life

[edit]

Gordon grew up in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, as part of a family of 6 children.[3] She started off playing soccer as a striker before changing positions to goalkeeper with the help of her father. She also eventually trained with former United States national team goalkeeper Jill Loyden to hone her skills.[4] Gordon attended the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, where she played both soccer and lacrosse.[5] With the soccer team, she was a two-time all-region selection, two-time MVP, and a team captain in her senior year. She also played in 3 league championship games with Shipley and won a title in 2016.[3]

College career

[edit]

Drexel Dragons

[edit]

Gordon did not get any offers to Division I schools after leaving high school. She later trained with the Drexel Dragons as a walk-on trialist and made the 2019 team roster.[6] In her single season with Drexel, Gordon was a backup goalkeeper and did not make any appearances.[7][8] She later redshirted the season[3] and entered the NCAA transfer portal in search of other opportunities.[9]

Seton Hall Pirates

[edit]

Gordon then joined the Seton Hall Pirates for her second year of college.[10] She immediately stepped into Seton Hall's #1 goalkeeper role and started all 11 games of the delayed 2020 season.[6][10] Gordon showed off her shot-stopping abilities throughout the year, leading the Big East Conference with 5.64 saves per game. The following season, she built upon her success, recording 93 saves and playing in all 11 matches.[10] In a match against Providence on October 28, 2021, she set a personal record, making 12 saves in the 2–0 defeat.[11] Gordon set a career-high 98 saves in 2022 and also combined with Seton Hall's defensive unit to record 5 shutouts.[10] In the September of her third year as a Pirate, she was named the Big East Goalkeeper of the Week after keeping a clean sheet against Saint Mary's.[12]

Oklahoma State Cowgirls

[edit]

In 2023, Gordon entered the transfer portal for the second time, in hopes of finding a larger program to join. While she contemplated moving to Baylor, she ultimately ended up joining the Oklahoma State Cowgirls to ride out the tail end of her college career.[9] While she faced some competition at the start of the season from Ary Purifoy,[13] Gordon was able to seize the Oklahoma State starting goalkeeper position. She racked up 19 appearances and 6 shutouts in her first season.[3]

In 2024, Gordon started the campaign off on a good note, receiving two Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors in a row.[6] She built upon the success and recorded 9 clean sheets by the time Oklahoma State's season was two-thirds of the way over.[3][14] She later added 3 more and tied Adrianna Franch's single-season record of 12.[15] In her two seasons with the Cowgirls, Gordon had totaled 32 appearances and 115 saves.[3]

Club career

Kansas City Current

[edit]

Gordon inked her first professional deal on July 11, 2025, signing a short-term goalkeeper replacement contract with the Kansas City Current.[16]
