Gladys Ama Quartey is a Ghanaian academic, engineer, and former Dean of Faculty of Building and Natural Environment at the Takoradi Technical University.[1][2]
Education
[edit]Gladys had her secondary education at the Ghana Secondary School in Koforidua. She proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, where she earned a BSc in Renewable Natural Resources, before receiving a scholarship to pursue an MPhil and PhD in Wood Science from the same institution.[3] She also had the opportunity to intern at the Bern University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland.[4]
Career
[edit]Gladys Quartey is an engineer and associate professor who has served as Dean of the Faculty of Built and Natural Environment at Takoradi Technical University. She is also a professional fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration and Management.[1] She was also appointed as Director of the Center for Gender and Advocacy, where she advocates for women's empowerment and educates people about the role and impact of women in every field of work.[1][5][6][2]
Awards
[edit]She won awards from 2006 to 2007 from the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation grant as part of a large project.[4]
Personal life
[edit]Gladys is married with four children.[1]
