Description
English: Gabriel Guay, albumen print of his painting Cosette, exhibited in the Paris Salon of 1882. Signed and dedicated with the inscription: "A Victor Hugo, notre illustre poète national, Hommage de son grand admirateur, Gabriel Guay." The scene depicted is from Hugo's novel Les Misérables, Part 2, Book III, Chapter V. Maison de Victor Hugo - Hauteville House.
