Français : Des observations effectuées au moyen du Très Grand Télescope de l'ESO et du Télescope Canada France Hawaï, indiquent que C/2014 S3 (PANSTARRS) est le tout premier objet doté d'une orbite cométaire à longue période découvert à ce jour, qui présente les caractéristiques d'un astéroïde primitif du Système Solaire interne. Cette découverte devrait livrer d'importantes informations concernant la formation du Système Solaire. Cette image de la comète a été acquise au moyen du Très Grand Télescope de l'ESO.
