Enneinae is a subfamily of land snails in the family Streptaxidae.[1]

Characteristics

[edit]

(Original description in French) If the animals of the Aenneidae resemble those of the Testacellidae or Streptaxidae due to the lack of a jaw, on the other hand, we cannot deny that their shells bear no resemblance to those of these families. Their shells are even so dissimilar that their association constitutes an anomalous and unmethodical fact.

Furthermore, while the Ennean species cannot remain among the Helicidae, since the latter are equipped with a jaw, we must nevertheless consider that from the perspective of their overall distinctive features, their shells are much closer to those of Bulimes and Pupas than to Testacellas or Streptaxis.
