A duckling is a baby duck, typically covered in soft down feathers. Ducklings are precocial, meaning they hatch with their eyes open and can walk and swim shortly after birth. They rely on their mother for warmth, protection, and guidance in finding food.

A collaborative software suite developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences to support e-Science activities. Duckling integrates various digital resources and provides tools for document collaboration, user management, and data sharing. It consists of several components, including:

  • User Management Tool (UMT) – Used for creating, editing, and deleting users, groups, and roles.
  • Document Collaboration Tool (DCT) – Enables data publishing in a wiki-style format.
  • Collaboration Library (CLB) – Facilitates data sharing among team members.
  • Duckling Log (DLOG) – Monitors events created by core services and plugins.

Duckling was first developed in 2006 and released as open-source software in 2010.

Duckling (Louie episode)

The 11th episode of the second season of the TV series Louie, written and directed by Louis C.K.. The episode follows Louie on a USO tour to the Middle East, where he unexpectedly bonds with soldiers and locals over a duckling his daughter sneaked into his luggage. The episode received critical acclaim and was nominated for multiple Primetime Emmy Awards.

An experimental flying boat designed by Grover Loening in the late 1910s. It was a single-bay biplane powered by a Lawrence radial engine in a tractor arrangement. The aircraft featured twin fins with a high-horizontal stabilizer, but limited historical records make it unclear whether It works.
