Feedback from New Page Review process

[edit]

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: Just being young does not pass notabilitytests.

March 18 Decline

[edit]

SafariScribe, I had a look at just refs 5, 6, 7, and 8 and all are substantially or entirely about Yair, so not passing mentions or mainly about some other, broader topic. I stopped looking at refs after that, as these four alone appear to satisfy the WP:BASIC requirement of "significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources" that are reliable and independent. Based on that, and that "People who meet the basic criteria may be considered notable without meeting the additional criteria below", I consider that Yair is notable per WP:BIO. True, he fails WP:NACADEMIC, but that doesn't matter, as he passes WP:BASIC which is sufficient by itself. If you agree, could you move this to mainspace, and if you disagree, can you elaborate? (If you need any translation assistance, please ask.) Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 20:27, 25 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Mathglot, I do not see how he qualifies as notable under any of your criteria. That a young hispanic student should be the first to be recruited by NASA for an internship says more about NASA than him (and it is not great about NASA). Nothing has been added since the original draftification that demonstrates notability, sorry. Ldm1954 (talk) 23:19, 25 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
