Draft talk:The Legend of Zelda (film)
Film title
[edit]I take issue with the assertion that the film's full title is confirmed to be The Legend of Zelda. In the source that this article uses, Tom Rothman makes only a passing reference to the film, and it seems to be talking about the title of the source IP, not the full title of the film:
But please don't misunderstand me, big IP movies are going to stay big. The Legend of Zelda is going to be huge for us. Massive.
I believe it's premature to claim that this is the full title of the film with the information currently available; as such, I propose reverting back to "Untitled The Legend of Zelda film" for now. — gabldotink [ talk | contribs | global account ] 23:52, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- That sounds like a very pretty good idea. 'Cause I've been interested in making a feature-length Legend of Zelda fan film myself, and I should properly keep it to myself before I can reveal it to the public. Chance997 (talk) 12:40, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
Mention of scrapped Netflix television series
[edit]Hello, I've been working on my own draft of an article for this film on my sandbox page. I figure I'll just contribute to this one instead.
In my draft, I included a paragraph with the sub-heading "Prior efforts" in which the Imagi pitch reel was included. I also mentioned the live-action television series Nintendo was planning with Netflix and how it was cancelled following a leak to The Wall Street Journal (and that it would have been the second direct television adaptation following the DIC Entertainment cartoons).
A reason for including this may be that it was a live-action adaptation, as this film is, as well as a recent attempt at an adaptation from the previous decade. Reasons against including this are: it is a television adaptation, not a film adaptation; the mention of multiple prior adaptations or attempts at such may be excessive; and the seeming confirmation of its existence and why it was cancelled (via an interview with a former CollegeHumor employee who had knowledge of another licensed project that was affected) might just be irrelevant in the long run.
I will add these portions to the draft, but feel free to tweak and let me know what the best direction of the article is. InedibleDevon (talk) 20:04, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
