Sofi Commando

Sofi Commando is an Afghan musician, singer, and public figure known for his patriotic and anti-Taliban songs, as well as his social media presence. He is originally from the Panjshir Valley and belongs to the Tajik ethnic group.

He rose to popularity for his bold music style and performances, often reflecting themes of resistance, Afghan pride, and social commentary. One of his most well-known songs is “Marg Ba Talib” (“Death to the Taliban”), in which he openly criticizes and condemns the Taliban. The song was performed during a wedding event, where Sofi and his friends were seen wearing full camouflage clothing and armed with rifles, drawing widespread attention online.

Sofi Commando is also known for his close friendships and musical collaborations with other Afghan artists such as Ajmal Sangari and Fahim Parwin. The trio have performed at private events where fans showered them with money, a traditional show of appreciation in Afghan culture.

Before leaving Afghanistan following the Taliban’s return to power in 2021, Sofi was often seen in viral videos driving luxury armored Land Cruisers with friends who were reportedly former soldiers. These clips frequently featured visible firearms, including AK-47s and pistols. After the fall of Kabul, he relocated to Iran, where he is currently based.

He completed his education at Kardan Private School (يسه خصوصى كاردان) in Kabul.

In addition to his music, Sofi Commando is known for hosting informal concerts in people’s homes, often accompanied by drinking, smoking, and singing among close friends. His unique mix of artistry and rebellious image has earned him a significant fan base on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
