Manny Martinez, Misfits Drummer - how do I get this article accepted?

After Manny's passing, I realized there was nothing on Wikipedia about him, other than mentions in Misfits articles. I scoured the internet to assemble the most definitive information on him. Additionally, I spoke with some of his closest (as evidenced by posts on his Facebook page) friends, and interviewed former bandmates to try and glean anything more that hadn't been addressed in existing articles or mentions. Once assembled, I created the article (Draft:Manny Martinez (musician)), and cited more than a dozen sources. The article was declined a few times, and each time I tried to meet the standards that were asked, but it's still being declined for too few reliable sources.

I'm troubled by that, because another former Misfits member, Frank LiCata, has his own page that cites just 2 sources, and is but a single paragraph in length: Franché Coma

How does such a sparse page such as that get approved while Manny's fails to meet the requirements. I'm genuinely asking this, and while I'm frustrated and disappointed, I completely agree with the need to fully vet any information that's published on Wikipedia, I simply want to overcome whatever obstacle is preventing Manny's legacy from being forever available on the internet. Further, the standard for references ( [...] significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject) isn't met with the Frank LiCata article, as one of the only 2 sources is his own website - not independent of the subject. The other source, Misfits Central, is one of my citations for Manny's article. Again, I'm simply frustrated that I'm not grasping what's at issue here. This is my first article submission, and it was borne out of the need for Manny to have his own story preserved. I'm thrilled that there's such a good community to help, but I'm missing something - help! RussellTVC (talk) 15:47, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
