ExcludedUK article

[edit]

Hi there

I have tried to publish the page about ExcludedUK and have edited it to make it look like less like an advert and more factual, but it has been declined again and I am unsure what I have done wrong. Please could you advise. Many thanks PurpleDiva2902 (talk) 09:23, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft Draft:ExcludedUK is very promotional and appears to be AI generated, do you have a conflict of interest by any chance? Theroadislong (talk) 09:28, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This organisation is a unique organisation in the UK...it doesn't sell anything, it saves lives due to the 24/7 mental health support provided to those who are going through mental crisis EXCLUDEDUK CIC overview - Find and update company information - GOV.UK
I am someone who was excluded from parity of Covid-19 financial support. I wrote it from scratch and ran it through AI just to create the references in a format that I could copy and paste into the editing tool as I have Irlens Syndrome and therefore have trouble with screens and words jumping out. I have to use a tool to dictate...which again sometimes is detected as AI
I hope that helps.. PurpleDiva2902 (talk) 09:36, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
being a "a unique organisation in the UK" is not a part of the criteria at WP:NORG I'm afraid. Theroadislong (talk) 09:45, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, what I was trying to clarify was that it is not trying to sell anything as there is no competition. Apologies that did not come across as intended.
Is there anything else I need to change for it to be published please? PurpleDiva2902 (talk) 09:47, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
AI generates unusable hallucinated references you need to fix them and show how they pass WP:NORG. It doesn't matter whether they are not trying to sell anything it is still promotional. Theroadislong (talk) 09:50, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please could you advise how I do that... and if there is a disabled/accessible way of doing this, as explained previously I have difficulties online, which was why I had to use AI to code PurpleDiva2902 (talk) 09:52, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also, what do you mean promotional? It is a community interest organisation PurpleDiva2902 (talk) 09:53, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"Promotional" has a broader meaning here than is commonly understood; it isn't limited to solicitation of customers/clients or selling something. Nonprofits-community organizations can absolutely be promoted.
I understand that you were excluded from COVID relief funds, but that doesn't answer the question as to if you are associated with this organization/its apparatus. 331dot (talk) 09:59, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As I was excluded during the Covid-19 pandemic, this organisation represents me ... one of the categories they represent are some of the WASPI women who were also excluded from parity of Covid-19 support Women Against State Pension Inequality - Wikipedia PurpleDiva2902 (talk) 10:03, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Tony Robinson (business adviser) - Wikipedia was one of our non-executive directors and mentions us on his page PurpleDiva2902 (talk) 10:06, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If by "represents me" you mean that you asked them to do so, like a lawyer representing a client, I would probably disclose that as a conflict of interest on your user page, just writing out what you said here would work. 331dot (talk) 10:12, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have not instructed them, they are just a non-government organisation that was set up to represent people like me. Like Save the Children - Wikipedia who are set up to help children... the children did not ask for the organisation to be set up, but the organisation represents them. I am not sure how else to describe it, but I did not set ExcludedUK up PurpleDiva2902 (talk) 10:15, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 10:17, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Does that now mean that you are able to publish it? If not, please advise what I need to do and if there is a disabled/accessible way of doing this, as explained previously I have difficulties online, which was why I had to use AI to code the article originally PurpleDiva2902 (talk) 10:28, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You need to summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the organization and show how it meets the definition of a notable organization. AI tools are still imperfect and are problematic for several reasons on this human written project. Is there someone that you know that could open an account and act as your representative? 331dot (talk) 10:50, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The University of Bristol and the Standard Life Foundation completed a study using the statistics provided by the UK government to create this report Who are the excluded?
This report was cited in several Parliamentary Select Committee Debates, as well as part of the All-Party Political Group as evidenced on page 420 of the UK Government Official Register of APPGs, that can be found here: REGISTER OF ALL-PARTY PARLIAMENTARY GROUPS
Jennifer Griffiths, Head of Member Welfare for ExcludedUK, is a wikipedia editor. Her username is JenniferExcludedUK
She received a letter directly from UK Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, which she has forwarded me but I am unable to attach.

Not clear why you are dumping all this here, please add any relevant sources to the draft Draft:ExcludedUK. Theroadislong (talk) 13:42, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am not 'dumping' anything.... I was responding to 331dot... I have explained several times that I have trouble with tech... I have asked politely with guidance on how to do this. Please could you help me PurpleDiva2902 (talk) 13:44, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Writing a new article is difficult for non-disabled persons. As I said, I think your best bet is to ask someone you know to open an account and act as your representative. You could also ask at the Help Desk but that may or may not work. It does take a certain level of ability and skills to participate here. 331dot (talk) 13:53, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please could you advise what they would need to do and which bits are not acceptable? Thank you PurpleDiva2902 (talk) 13:57, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The sources have been created by AI and are all 404 errors so nothing can be verified. Theroadislong (talk) 14:06, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
