Help with page creation
[edit]![]() | Text and/or other creative content from this version of User talk:Brainflakes1 was copied or moved into Draft talk:Decap organ with this edit on 2025-06-27. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists. |
I created a page not too long ago, and I was wondering where I would go to recruit people to help me work on this specific page. Thanks.

- You are referring to Decap organ. I think the name of the company to which you refer in the article is nl:Gebroeders Decap Antwerpen. Rather than Decap, which links to a disambiguation page, you should have something like
{{ill|Decap Brothers Antwerp|nl|Gebroeders Decap Antwerpen}}
that will produce Decap Brothers Antwerp , or some other appropriate translation of their name. - However more importantly, I think the article currently fails notability through the lack of reliable sources. You may wish to move the article into the draft namespace to prevent its deletion until this is resolved. Peaceray (talk) 22:00, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your help, I have moved the article into the draft namespace and I fixed the disambiguation link. I am still wondering how to recruit people to help expand this article. Brainflakes1 (talk) 22:37, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
- I'm removing the {{help}} template. Asking for help with content is what every talk page is for and you can't use this template for that. If you want to get some more attention, the first place to try is the talk page of a WikiProject: in this case WT:WikiProject Musical Instruments where I see you already posted a request. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jmcgnh (talk • contribs) 01:18, 28 June 2025 (UTC)

Possible renaming of the page
[edit]Would it be better to have this page be about the Decap company as a whole rather than Decap organs? Brainflakes1 (talk) 03:16, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Brainflakes1: That kind of decision may depend on what kinds of sources you are able to find. Company notability criteria are pretty stiff (WP:NCOMP), so if you have good sources for writing about the organs but can't find even better sources for writing about the company, you would probably want to stick to writing about the instruments.
- The name of the draft is not something to worry overmuch about. In the end, the accepting reviewer has the responsibility for determining the title of the article. You can suggest, and most of the time your suggestion will be taken notice of, but the reviewers know the naming rules. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 04:31, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, I think it would be best to name it after the company, Dutch: Gebroeders Decap Antwerpen, lit. 'Decap Brothers Antwerp'. That way you could simply translate the nl:Gebroeders Decap Antwerpen article. You still would need to add citations to establish notability, though. Peaceray (talk) 05:36, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
- It might be best to maintain the Gebroeders Decap
Antwerpenname & have "Decap Brothers" & "Decap organ" redirect to it. Peaceray (talk) 05:42, 28 June 2025 (UTC)- @Brainflakes1: @Peaceray: The nl-wiki page lacks references so a direct translation will do little good. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 06:22, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
- Sometimes these things can be retrofitted. Perhaps the information below will help. Peaceray (talk) 06:27, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
