Illya Mulyarchuk (born March 12, 2003), better known as Yatoro or Raddan, is a Ukrainian professional Dota 2 player. He is a two-time world champion, having won The International in 2021 and 2023.

Mulyarchuk spent his childhood in Bucha, Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine. He became interested in the video game Dota 2 at the age of ten, as his older brother played it. When he was 13, he started working as a merchandiser to afford a more powerful computer. He became deeply passionate about the game, spending around 10 hours a day playing. In the ninth grade, he reportedly almost stopped attending school, playing Dota 2 from morning until night. [4][5]

After finishing school, Mulyarchuk enrolled in a university to study geology but never attended a single class. [4]

Career

ВAt the end of 2020, Mulyarchuk joined the professional Dota 2 team, Team Spirit. He played the "carry" position, focusing on acquiring a maximum number of items and killing opponent heroes. In a surprise to the global community, Team Spirit not only qualified for the year's largest tournament, The International 2021, but also won it, despite being considered an absolute underdog. Mulyarchuk, along with each of his four teammates, received $3.6 million in prize money. [4]

Another significant achievement for Illya with Team Spirit was their victory at the PGL Arlington Major 2022, a Valve-sponsored major tournament, in August 2022. [6]

During the 2023 season, Team Spirit continued to show consistent results. Their key achievement was a triumph at The International 2023, where the team once again secured victory, defeating Gaimin Gladiators in the final with a 3-0 score. This made Yatoro a two-time champion of The International, solidifying his reputation as one of the best players in the history of Dota 2.

Also in 2023, the team won prestigious tournaments such as Riyadh Masters 2023 and DreamLeague Season 21, strengthening their position among the world's top teams. [7]

On August 4, 2023, the Ukrainian Esports Federation (UESF) blacklisted Yatoro for playing on the same team as Russian players. [8]

In July 2024, Illya decided to temporarily change his in-game alias to "Raddan," a reference to the character Radahn from the game Elden Ring. He stated that it was not a permanent change but an attempt to bring some variety to his career. [9]

In 2024, Team Spirit continued to perform successfully on the international stage. Notable achievements include victories at PGL Wallachia Season 1 and 1win Series Dota 2 Summer, as well as high placements in other tournaments, which secured the team direct invitations to Riyadh Masters 2024 and The International 2024. [10]

Individual Records

Yatoro has continued to set new individual records. In April 2021, he reached 11,000 MMR, and by November of the same year, he achieved 12,000 MMR. This made him one of the few players to reach such a high level of play. [11]

At DreamLeague Season 19, Yatoro set a personal record for the most kills in a single game—30 kills—while playing Drow Ranger against Talon Esports.

On November 24, 2024, he reached the top 1 spot on the leaderboard, and between November 27 and 28, he reached 16,000 MMR, an absolute record as of the time of this entry.
