Draft:World Memon Day

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

World Memon Day is celebrated on 10 April every year by the global Memon community. The day aims to recognize the community’s culture and its efforts to help others.

Founding

[edit]

The observance was proposed to strengthen the identity and unity of the Memon community worldwide. The World Memon Organisation (WMO) officially adopted 10 April as World Memon Day during its 21st Annual General Meeting in 2023.[1][2] The initiative was supported by Iqbal Memon Officer, President of the All India Memon Jamat Federation, who advocated for its recognition in co-ordination with International Memon leaders.[3][4]

Celebrations

[edit]

Events marking World Memon Day include charity initiatives and community programs held in countries with significant Memon populations, such as India, Pakistan, and South Africa.[4]
