Winona (Noni) Hartvikson was born in Minot North Dakota (1959). She immigrated with her family to British Columbia Canada in 1968.

For most of her life she has been an avid horse woman, student and competitor in Dressage. In 1992 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. By 2017 she had a significant disability and began competing in Para Dressage Grade 1 at the International level. It was her answer to the challenges of MS, and she was classified at the most disabled level.

In 2018, she made the Canadian Team and competed her PRE Andalusian horse ULTIMO (bred by Arrow Andalusians) at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon North Carolina, finishing 10th Individually.

In 2019, she purchased the German bred Hanoverian horse ONYX and began training and competing him with a goal of making the team for the Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020. They were in Florida competing when Covid hit so they went home to Langley to continue training. In 2021, she was named to the Canadian Paralympic Team and competed in Tokyo Japan, finishing 9th Individually.

In 2022, they were again named to the Canadian Team for the World Championships in Herning Denmark where they finished 6th Individually.

In 2023, she purchased the German bred mare Cadanza with hopes of making the team for the Paralympic Games in Paris but Cadanza went lame that same year and had to be retired as a brood mare in Germany.

In 2023, Winona was thrown from a horse at a competition at Thunderbird Showpark and dislocated her hip. She recovered and is still riding.
