Draft:Vishwash Kumar Ramesh
Vishwash Kumar Ramesh — was born in 1985, a British Indian, is the only survivor of the Boeing 787 plane crash near Ahmedabad.
The incident
[edit]Vishnu Kumar Rakesh visited his family in India and returned to London with his brother Ajay Kumar Ramesh. He suffered numerous injuries in the crash, but survived, and his brother, who was sitting in the other row, died.
According to Ramesh, 30 seconds after takeoff, he heard a crash and lost consciousness. When he came to, he found that the boarding pass was still clutched in his hand, and he also saw the corpses of passengers and the wreckage of the plane scattered around. Despite his injuries and short-term loss of consciousness, he got up and ran to the side until he was escorted by volunteers to an ambulance.
Contrary to popular belief about the greater safety of seats in the "tail" of the plane, Vishwash survived the crash due to the fact that he was sitting closer to the nose — in the seat number 11A in economy class. This was facilitated by the fact that during the uncontrolled descent, the nose of the Boeing was lifted and the main impact fell on the tail of the aircraft.
