Violet B. Gingles was an American historian and author. The Arkansas Historical Association presents an award named in her honor.[1][2][3]
"Violet B. Gingles Award for excellence in researching and writing Arkansas history, and the Lucille Westbrook Local History Award for excellence in researching and writing of local history in Arkansas History. The Violet B. Gingles Award carries a $300 prize and a framed certificate, while the Lucille Westbrook Local History Award consists of a $75 prize and a framed certificate."[4]
