Verhuellia hydrocotylifolia is a species of flowering plant in the family Piperaceae. It belongs to the small genus Verhuellia, which is closely related to the larger and more well-known genus Piper. The species is native to Hispaniola, the Caribbean island that comprises both Haiti and the Dominican Republic.[1]
The species is popular for its round, hydrocotyle-like leaves, which give it the specific epithet hydrocotylifolia.
