Valentin Budilevschi is a Moldovan choir conductor and music educator, best known as the artistic director of the Corul "Moldova" at the National Radio‑Television Broadcaster and a prominent pedagogue of choir conducting.
Early life and education
[edit]Budilevschi was born in Gherman village, commune Sculeni Târg, Iaşi County (now Ungheni District, Moldova).
He studied at the following institutions:

- State Music Academy (Chişinău)
- Musical‑Pedagogical Institute (Taganrog, Russia)
Career
[edit]Budilevschi began his conducting career in 1967. His professional and academic appointments include:
- 1967–1971 – Choir conductor at Cărpineni Boarding School (Hânceşti)
- 1968–1969 – Folklore pedagogue at the Republican House of Folk Art
- 1969–1973 – Head of studies and music professor at Călăraşi Pedagogic School
- 1973–1974 – Inspector at the Ministry of Culture of the MSSR
- 1973–1974 – Choir conductor in Verejeni village (Teleneşti)
- 1974–1988 – Artistic director and choir conductor of *Lia‑Ciocârlia*, Republican Palace of Pioneers and Students
- 1976–1994 – Professor at the State Institute of Arts (now the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts)
- 1975–1976 – Choir conductor in Lozova village (Nisporeni)
- 1973–1974, 1992–2010 – Professor at the Republican Musical College Ștefan Neaga
- 1987–present – Artistic Director and Conductor of the Moldova Choir at the National Radio‑Television Broadcaster

[edit]He led the choir on numerous tours across the Soviet Union: Odessa, Kaliningrad, Leningrad, Minsk, Riga, Moscow, Tallinn, Kiev, Vilnius, Vladivostok (1975–1987).
Moldova Choir
[edit]International achievements include:
- 1990–1994 – Appearances in Bacău, Bucharest, Cernăuţi, Moscow, and across Italy
- 1993 – Grand Prix at the George Dima International Choral Contest (Braşov, Romania)
- 1997 – Tours in Strasbourg, Ingwiller, and Steinbourg (France)
- 2008 – First place at the International Festival of Orthodox Music (Poland)
- 2011 – Second place at the same festival

Recordings and collaborations
[edit]Budilevschi has conducted and coordinated more than 2,000 radio and television recordings of choral and orchestral works.
He has collaborated with a wide array of musicians and composers, including: Maria Bieşu, Alexandru Samoilă, Gheorghe Mustea, Nicolae Botgros, Tudor Gheorghe, Gheorghe Zamfir, Marcel Pavel, and others from Moldova, Romania, Russia, and Italy.
