The untitled Ghostbusters series is an upcoming American animated supernatural comedy streaming television series created by Elliott Kalan and produced by Sony Pictures Animation and Ghost Corps. It will be an entry in the Ghostbusters franchise. Kalan wrote the series, while Ben Hibon serves as showrunner.
The series will be distributed by Netflix.
Production

[edit]An animated streaming television series based on the Ghostbusters franchise produced by Netflix was announced in June 2022. The series will be produced by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, both who produced the 2021 film Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and as a production of Ghost Corps and Sony Pictures Animation.[1] The series was greenlit by August 2024, with Elliott Kalan as writer and executive producer.[2] In June 2025, during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Ben Hibon was announced as showrunner and executive producer.[3]
Writing
[edit]Writing for the series had began by March 2024.[4] The series will have a similar tone to Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024).[2]
Animation
[edit]By March 2024, development had started on the designs for the show's sets and environments.[4] Flying Bark Productions was announced to be providing animation for the series in April 2025.[5]
