An untitled animated Ghostbusters film is an upcoming American animated supernatural comedy horror film film directed by Kris Pearn. It is the sixth film overall in the Ghostbusters franchise.

Development

In October 2015, Ivan Reitman announced that he was producing an animated film for Sony Pictures Animation, with Fletcher Moules attached to the project as both animator and director.[1][2] The film will tell a story from the perspective of ghosts.[3] The film would begin production following the completion and release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife.[4] The project was reconfirmed in June 2022, with Jennifer Kluska and Chris Prynoski as directors and Brenda Hsueh as the writer of the film.[5] In December 2024, an untitled animated Ghostbusters film was reported to be in the works, with Kris Pearn set to direct and Netflix set to distribute.[6][7][8][9]
