Ujawal Jha (born 14 September 1992) is a Nepali social worker and youth political figure known for his grassroots development efforts in Madhesh Province. He is active in local governance, youth advocacy, and social outreach in rural communities of southern Nepal.[1]

Early life and education

Jha was born in Mahottari District, Madhesh Province. He completed his early education at Shree Janata Rastriy Secondary School, Dhamaura, and later graduated with a degree in Political Science from Tribhuvan University.[2]

Career

Jha began his political involvement in 2022 after affiliating with the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre). He has worked on several community-level projects focused on education access, climate advocacy, and youth mobilization in the Terai region.[3]

In 2024, Jha extended support to the Nepal-based NGO Manavseva Ashram, which provides care for the destitute.[4] In the same year, he led a youth awareness campaign addressing healthcare and snakebite response in Mahottari and surrounding districts, reported by the regional press.[5]

He has also been involved in environmental and rural climate action drives, particularly in flood-prone areas.[6]

In 2023, he spoke at a local policy summit on improving rural governance and infrastructure in southern Nepal, as covered in national media.[7]
