Tohum Turkey Autism Foundation

Tohum Turkey Autism Early Diagnosis and Education Foundation (Tohum Otizm Vakfı) is a non-profit, public-benefit foundation established in 2003 in Istanbul, Turkey. The foundation focuses on ensuring early diagnosis and access to special education for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), aiming to support their full inclusion in society.

Mission and Activities

The foundation’s activities include:

  • Early and intensive special education programs for children diagnosed with ASD,
  • Training for educators and professionals in the fields of special and inclusive education,
  • Family counseling and support services,
  • Public awareness campaigns and policy advocacy,
  • Development and dissemination of evidence-based education models such as the Princeton Child Development Institute (PCDI) approach.

Collaborations

Tohum collaborates with the Turkish Ministry of National Education, UNICEF, and the European Union. It carries out joint projects focused on inclusive education and improving access to services for children with special needs.[1]
