The Civitas Institute is a nonpartisan research center housed within the School of Civic Leadership at the University of Texas at Austin.[2][3][4][5][6][6] The Civitas Institute is led by executive director Ryan Streeter.[7]

Purpose and Activities

The Civitas Institute supports scholarly work in fields including economics, constitutional law, political theory, philosophy, and public policy.[8] The Institute seeks to explore the ideas that create and maintain free and prosperous societies, such as economic dynamism, individual flourishing, civic virtue, and constitutionalism. The Institute offers fellowships to scholars to support their research and organizes academic events. It also hosts public events and publishes an online journal titled Civitas Outlook.
