Known across the school grounds (and rumoured to be internationally recognised), Mr Quinn and Mr Shotbolt, also known as the Buff Brothers, have become icons of strength, wisdom, and perfectly timed high-fives. Their presence alone is enough to inspire students to sit up straight, finish their homework, and start lifting metaphorical (and sometimes literal) weights.
The Buff Brothers are instantly recognisable by their powerful physiques, sharp dress sense, and biceps that allegedly have their own postcode. According to the Schoolyard Strength Survey (2023), 9 out of 10 students believe Mr Quinn and Mr Shotbolt can bench press a whiteboard — with one hand. Their matching socks and impressive lanyard game are also said to be part of their signature look.
The Buff Brothers are more than just muscles — they’re educators, motivators, and part-time motivational speakers (unofficially). Mr Quinn is known for his lightning-fast wit and ability to explain complex topics while doing push-ups. Mr Shotbolt, meanwhile, holds the unofficial world record for the most encouraging nods in one lunch break. Together, they bring a balance of brains, brawn, and banter to every staff meeting and sports carnival.
Research conducted by the Institute of Inspirational Educators (2024) shows that student motivation increases by 72% when in proximity to the Buff Brothers. Their commitment to education and fitness has led to the rise of the "Buff Buddy" mentoring program, where students set learning and fitness goals inspired by the brothers' legendary efforts.
Whether they’re leading a lesson, lifting spirits, or lifting gym equipment, Mr Quinn and Mr Shotbolt are more than just teachers — they’re the Buff Brothers: part myth, part muscle, and 100% motivation.
