Tentkotta is an over-the-top (OTT) video streaming platform specializing in Tamil-language films. Headquartered in the United States, with a regional office in India, the platform offers a curated library of classic and contemporary Tamil cinema through a subscription-based streaming model. Launched in 2014, Tentkotta serves a global audience, primarily focusing on the Tamil diaspora in North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
History
[edit]Tentkotta was launched in 2015 by Ipix Creations Private Limited, aiming to provide a centralized streaming platform for Tamil content to Tamil audiences worldwide. Initially launched with a limited selection of licensed films, the platform quickly expanded to become one of the first global services dedicated exclusively to Tamil-language cinema. As of 2025, Tentkotta hosts over 1,000 movies for overseas audiences, with more than 500 titles available in India, including mainstream blockbusters, independent productions, and exclusive digital premieres.[1]

The platform is in the process of being listed on popular OTT directories including JustWatch, Flixjini, and OTTPlay. Tentkotta is also exploring strategic tie-ups with DTH and telecom-based OTT hubs such as Tata Play Binge, JioCinema, and Airtel Xstream.[3]
