Tentkotta is an over-the-top (OTT) video streaming platform specializing in Tamil-language films. Headquartered in the United States, with a regional office in India, the platform offers a curated library of classic and contemporary Tamil cinema through a subscription-based streaming model. Launched in 2014, Tentkotta serves a global audience, primarily focusing on the Tamil diaspora in North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

History

Tentkotta was launched in 2015 by Ipix Creations Private Limited, aiming to provide a centralized streaming platform for Tamil content to Tamil audiences worldwide. Initially launched with a limited selection of licensed films, the platform quickly expanded to become one of the first global services dedicated exclusively to Tamil-language cinema. As of 2025, Tentkotta hosts over 1,000 movies for overseas audiences, with more than 500 titles available in India, including mainstream blockbusters, independent productions, and exclusive digital premieres.[1]

Featured titles include Ten Hours, Sumo, Eleven[2] , Tharunam, Gentlewoman, Fire, Mr House Keeping, Vanangaan, Alangu, Aruvi, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, Maanagaram, and Joker.

Marketing and Partnerships

Tentkotta is actively expanding its visibility through aggregator partnerships and marketing efforts. The platform is in the process of being listed on popular OTT directories including JustWatch, Flixjini, and OTTPlay. Tentkotta is also exploring strategic tie-ups with DTH and telecom-based OTT hubs such as Tata Play Binge, JioCinema, and Airtel Xstream.[3]
