Tamil Nadu Youth Party (தமிழ்நாடு இளைஞர் கட்சி)

Tamil Nadu Youth Party (தமிழ்நாடு இளைஞர் கட்சி) is a political party based in Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded in 2017 in the aftermath of the Jallikattu protests, with the aim of channeling youth energy into constructive democratic politics. The party officially registered with the Election Commission of India in 2018 (Registration No: 56/269/2018).

History

The party was formed after the 2017 Jallikattu protests where youth were allegedly attacked and politically sidelined. This led to the formation of a party that aimed to empower young voices in Tamil Nadu's political landscape.[1]

Objectives

The core ideology of the Tamil Nadu Youth Party is focused on social justice, youth empowerment, and democratic participation under the slogan: "எல்லாருக்கும் எல்லாம் கிடைக்க வேண்டும்" ("Everything for everyone").

Recent Alliances

In the run-up to the 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections, the party has extended its support to the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam alliance.[3]

Government Recognition

In March 2024, the party was officially invited by the Government of Tamil Nadu to attend an all-party meeting on Lok Sabha constituency delimitation, held at the Secretariat. The party was represented by Vice President Kamesh.[4]
