Syed Mosharaf Hossain is an Indian educator, electronics engineer, and innovator. He serves as the Principal of Purbasthali II Government Industrial Training Institute in East Bardhaman district, West Bengal. Hossain is known for his contributions to technical education and for developing an Arduino-based smart safety shoe for women.[1]
Education
[edit]Hossain completed a Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Gobindapur Sephali Memorial Polytechnic. He later earned a B.Tech from the Modern Institute of Engineering and Technology and an M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).[1]
Career
[edit]Hossain began his career as a skill trainer in electronics and mobile repair. He later joined Purbasthali II Government ITI as Principal, where he introduced initiatives such as:
- Metaverse-based learning platforms
- Digital classroom integration
- Skill-based development programs for students beyond standard curriculum[1]
Innovations
[edit]In 2021, Hossain developed a smart safety shoe for women using Arduino technology. The device featured location tracking and an emergency alert system, aimed at protecting women from harassment or attack. The project was later recognized by multiple institutions and included in a peer-reviewed technical journal.[2]
