Surjasikha Das is an Indian actress from Guwahati, Assam, who has established herself in Mumbai's film and television industry. Born and raised in Guwahati, she attended St. Mary's School and pursued higher education at Cotton College (now Cotton University). Das furthered her studies in Bangalore, earning an MBA in Finance. Coming from a family valuing academia, her mother was a schoolteacher and an important source of support and inspiration throughout her journey. [1][2]
Career
[edit]Surjasikha Das began her professional journey outside the world of cinema, and only after relocating to Mumbai in 2019 did she start auditioning for various roles with no prior connections to the film industry. Her first significant break came quickly — a widely recognized television commercial for IndusInd Bank, directed by Ruchi Narain. She steadily built her career through advertising, gradually stepping into television, web series, and films. [3] [4]

[edit]Maa: Das gained major recognition for her role as Nandini in Ajay Devgn Productions' supernatural thriller Maa, starring alongside Kajol. Her emotionally intense performance as a village mother drew critical and popular praise.
