Steven Rosen (Baseball Coach)
Steven Rosen (born June 7th, 1994) is an American college baseball coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the Manhattan Jaspers baseball program, a position he has held since 2024. At the time of his hiring, Rosen became the youngest active NCAA Division I head baseball coach in the country (29 years old).
Early Life and Education
Rosen is a native of New Jersey and graduated from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English. He was a catcher for the TCNJ Lions baseball team and began his coaching career shortly after completing his playing days. Rosen won a state championship title as a member of the Morris Knolls High School Golden Eagles baseball team.
Coaching Career
Early Career
Rosen began his coaching career at the NCAA Division I level in 2016 as an assistant at Georgia State University. He worked primarily with catchers and contributed to both pitching and hitting development. Rosen later joined the staff at the University of Notre Dame, where he served as Director of Baseball Operations under head coaches Mik Aoki and Link Jarrett. He also spent time in the professional ranks with the Minnesota Twins organization, working in both Fort Myers, Florida and the Dominican Republic on player development initiatives.
In 2022, Rosen was named the pitching coach for the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he coached several future Major League Baseball draft picks.
Alabama and Move to Manhattan
Rosen joined the University of Alabama baseball staff as Director of Player Development, assisting with the implementation of technology and analytics platforms, including TrackMan and TruMedia, and working closely with the pitching staff.
In fall 2023, Rosen was hired by head coach Dave Miller to join the Manhattan College baseball staff as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.
Head Coaching at Manhattan
Rosen was named interim head coach of Manhattan in summer 2024 and was promoted to full-time head coach on June 24, 2025. In his first season, he led the Jaspers to a 20–27 overall record and a 12–15 mark in conference play.
