Steklovata (Russian:Стекловата) was a Russian music group based in Orenburg, Russia. It is famous for their single "Новый год" (English: New Year)

History

[edit]The band Steklovata was established in 1999 when Sergey Kuznetsov met 13 year old Denis Belikin whilst searching for a vocalist for a project. Together, Alongside other teenagers, released their debut song called "Steklovata" in 2001.[1]
"Новый год" (2003)
[edit]In 2003, As a gift to an orphanage, Steklovata released a song called "Новый год."
Popularity:
[edit]In 2007, The Music video was released on social media platforms YouTube[2] and to their website, now defunct. Where it gained lots of attention. By 2010s, Many people tried recreating the music video from all over the world, calling it a "tribute."
Reunions

[edit]In 2020, Belikin, Gulyayev, and Dyadyun reunited to re-create the "Новый год." video.
2023

In 2023, All four members appears on Russian Television for New Year's Eve in 2023, It was also the 20th anniversary since the release of "Новый год," After the song was preformed, all four talk about what happened after the past few years. Belikin is married and a father of five children.
