Stefan Budde-Siegel (born 17 March 1971 in Gelsenkirchen-Buer, Germany) is a German entrepreneur, publisher, lecturer, author, journalist, expert witness, building designer, court-appointed expert, and media designer. He is a recognized expert witness for several higher and administrative courts in Germany,[1] and teaches architecture and construction design. In 1992, Budde-Siegel founded what is now the **stefanbuddesiegel Group** as a sole proprietor in Gladbeck. Today, the company operates in the fields of design, media, and safety.[1]
In 2021, he acquired the digital edition of **SONNTAGSNACHRICHTEN**, a local advertising paper for Herne and the Altmark region, from insolvency, and expanded its coverage to include the city of Gladbeck.[2]
Early life and education
[edit]Budde-Siegel completed vocational training as a structural drafter (Hochbau) under architect and urban planner Alfred Luggenhölscher (BDA) in Gladbeck. Concurrently and in subsequent years, he attended the **Berufskolleg für Technik und Gestaltung** in Gelsenkirchen, where he completed advanced studies in construction engineering and design.
He pursued various academic programs, including architecture at Fachhochschule Dortmund, Technische Hochschule Köln, Hochschule Bochum, and Internationale Hochschule Bad Honnef/Bonn. He also studied rescue engineering at Technische Hochschule Köln and business law at Internationale Hochschule Bad Honnef/Bonn. Budde-Siegel later completed a part-time master's degree in preventive fire protection (M.A.) at Hochschule Kaiserslautern.
Career
[edit]Budde-Siegel is listed as a court-appointed expert witness at numerous courts, including the Higher Regional Courts (OLG) of Bamberg, Karlsruhe, Saarland, the Administrative Court of Schleswig-Holstein, among others.[1]
He has served in various professional roles, including:
- Fire Protection Officer, City of Potsdam (in the Office of the Lord Mayor)
- Fire Protection Officer, City of Dülmen
- Fire Protection Officer, University of Cologne
- Construction Auditor, University Hospital Essen
- Specialist Construction Supervisor for fire protection at **Kraftwerk Datteln 4** (coal-fired power plant)
He has contributed to numerous architectural and urban development projects in both the private and public sectors.
