Draft:Steel Aces

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Steel Aces is an upcoming free-to-play massively multiplayer online tactical tank shooter video game developed and published by Armative Studios. It is scheduled for release for Microsoft Windows in the third quarter of 2025.[1]

Gameplay

[edit]

Steel Aces centers on large-scale player-versus-player and player-versus-environment tank battles across multiple historical periods, including World War I, World War II, and the Cold War. Vehicles are modeled after real-world designs and feature deep customization through an advanced armor and ballistics system, wherein different shell types interact distinctly with armor layouts and internal components. Matches are designed to emphasize skill-based matchmaking, and the developers have excluded artillery and aircraft to focus on tactical, line-of-sight combat.[2]

Development

[edit]

Steel Aces was first announced in August 2023. The game has undergone multiple closed beta testing phases, during which the development team overhauled core systems and optimized performance based on player feedback. According to an official update on the game's Steam Community page, as of May 15, 2025, the core game systems were nearly complete, with additional open beta tests planned prior to full launch.[3]

Release

[edit]

Steel Aces is scheduled to be released on Microsoft Windows in the third quarter of 2025 via its standalone client.[4]

Partnerships and promotions

[edit]

In May 2025, Steel Aces was announced as the official gaming sponsor for Militracks, a military heritage event at the Overloon War Museum in the Netherlands, held on 17–18 May.[5] The developers also participated for a second consecutive year at the U.S. Army Armor & Cavalry Collection Open House in April 2025 as corporate partners of the National Armor & Cavalry Heritage Foundation.[6]
