Srinjoy Mukherjee (Bengali: সৃঞ্জয় মুখারজী) is an Indian Sarod Player who performs Hindustani classical music and Experimental Jugalbandis. Early life
[edit]Srinjoy was born in Kalyani, West Bengal and Grown up in Shantipur in a highly enriched musical family.His grandfather Pandit Bibhuti Bhushan Mukherjee was a Pakhwaz player. Inspired by his father, Sri Ramakanta Mukherjee He started learning Sarod under the guidance of his respected teacher, Diptesh Bhattacharya at the age of five. He gave his first public performance at the very age of ten. Later, He was groomed by Pandit Kamal Mullick and became a student of Kolkata Sangeet Research Academy – a very well-known music institute. He completed his bachelor degree in music from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.At present Srinjoy is a Ganda Bandhan (a traditional ceremony of acceptance between a teacher and his most able student) student of the highly acclaimed Sarod player, Ustad Amaan Ali Khan. He gets occasional valued guidance from Sarod maestro, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan.
Career
[edit]Srinjoy started performing professionally in various concerts from the year 2008. He has played his international debut concert at Doha Qatar, in 2012. in 2015 he performed at Bangladesh Dhaka and Maimansing He has played Sarod solo concerts at various prestigious venues , Festivals in Kolkata and also in Other States like Delhi ,Mumbai , Varanasi, Assam , Tripura, Bangalore etc Some most memorable Concerts :- West Bengal State Music Academy Music Conference 2016, Baithak Music Conference Essar House Mumbai, Baghachara Ramkrishna Mission, Digboi Music conference , Nanhak Music conference, D.S Cancer Research Center among others. In 2015 he has played classical concerts in India Habitat Center (New Delhi), Epicenter (Gurgaon) and Rabindra Sadan (Kolkata) among others. Srinjoy First time Performed in 2014 infront of the Maestro Amjad Ali Khan Amaan Ali Khan Ayaan Ali Khan at Mumbai in a Workshop.. these are some counted number from the endless list of programmes
